Raj graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and went on to design web software for economists to aid in their numerical and experimental research. Blaise Agüera y Arcas is the Architect of Bing Maps and MSN at Microsoft. He works in a variety of roles, from designer and coder to strategist, and he leads an Advanced Engineering team of researchers and engineers with strengths in social media, computer vision, and graphics. He joined Microsoft when his startup company, Seadragon, was acquired by Live Labs in 2006. Ossama Alami manages the Geo Developer Relations team at Google. He has been supporting Google’s Geospatial APIs as a Developer Advocate, helping developers build applications around products like the Google Maps API and the Google Earth API. Prior to joining Google, he has worked as a consultant, architect and engineer at Accenture, CSC and Oracle. He calls San Francisco, CA home and in the winter can be found snowboarding in the Sierras.
Shawn is a partner and design director at Stamen, a San Francisco studio specializing in data visualization and mapping.
As Design Director, he takes an active role in both the design of interactive information interfaces and the development of the underlying technologies that drive them. Since 2000 he has created numerous tools on the web for discovering real-time and historical data from transportation systems, social networks, live cultural and sporting events, public advocacy organizations, and the news media.

Jesper Andersen is the Product Manager for Data and Econometrics at Trulia.com and is the co-founder of Freerisk and is a statistician, computer scientist and entrepreneur. Mattias Åström is a serial entrepreneur who has successfully founded, developed and sold four technology companies. Prior to joining C3 Technologies, Mr. Åström was CEO of Nordnav, a venture backed GPS spin-out from Stanford, which he took to a successful exit in 2007. Earlier in his career, Mr. Åström worked in Technology Venture Capital in London, Sophia Antipolis and Amsterdam. Kim Balassiano is an Information Management Specialist with EPA’s Office of Environmental Information (OEI). Kim has been with OEI since 2007, and she spent the prior 14 years in the private sector as a GIS and spatial analysis specialist, primarily supporting EPA. From my perspective, the availability of mobile locative information is easily the most exciting opportunity of the last 15 years. John Zelek is Associate Professor (in Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo), with expertise in the area of intelligent Mechatronic control systems that interface with humans; specifically, the areas are (1) wearable sensory substitution and assistive devices; (2) probabilistic visual and tactile perception; (3) wearable haptic devices including their design, synthesis and analysis; and (4) human-robot interaction. He was awarded the best paper award at the 2007 Iinternational IEEE/IAPRS Computer and Robot Vision conference.
