Kiran Modak (Unsocial)
Business & Strategy Ballroom F

Business networking has not evolved significantly in the past 5 years. LinkedIn aside, most of us still attend conferences and tradeshows, meet people at evening events, or ask for intros using our exisiting social network. Unsocial has turned that idea right on its head.

Kiran Modak, founder of Unsocial will uncover the secrets of business discovery, and how to locate the people and contacts you would never otherwise meet. He’ll share recent developments in social networking technology as well as explaining the need for more advanced business networking tools. Lastly, Kiran will elaborate on the best ways to integrate geo-location into social and business networking.

Unsocial is a mobile application that connects users with business professionals in their proximity. It’s a discovery tool for meeting the business contacts you wouldn’t otherwise find. Unsocial uses geo-location and smart tagging to help find and be found. Think of it like Four Square meets LinkedIn with a splash of Match.com.

Unsocial facilitates business in several ways. It enables you to broadcast information about yourself and your brand, and serves up nearby professionals who have a common interest. You can connect with those people via integrated messaging, or even call them directly if they share their number.

Unsocial also serves as an outstanding event application. The networking benefits are phenomenal in a setting like a conference or tradeshow, where you already know about 10 people you want to meet, but aren’t even aware of the other 90 who might benefit your business. At featured events, you can also get great information about the show like the agenda, speaker bios, Twitter feeds, videos and more.

FEATURES
  • Employs geo-location technology to show when other users you should be connected with are nearby.
  • Ideal as a conference application: Includes “Live” features to distribute agenda, schedules, events, meetups and feeds.
  • Integrates with LinkedIn for simple login.
  • Includes discovery engine for events taking place nearby, according to geographic distance.
  • Uses smart tags to alert you when someone is nearby you should be meeting and vice-versa.
  • Integrated messaging lets you say hello and set up a meeting.
