Although LIDAR has been used for years in various ways to collect things like terrain imagery only recently has it been paired with other advanced technologies like ultra-precise GPS positioning equipment and high resolution and panoramic cameras to collect details of the road network with extreme accuracy and advanced intelligence. The result are new features coming to maps that were either impossible to collect and/or cost prohibitive. Additionally, these technologies are revolutionizing they way map maintenance is being conducted.
Jeff Raimo is a Product Marketing Manager at NAVTEQ where he is involved in defining next generation digital map content. Jeff has held various sales and marketing roles in the semiconductor and electronics industries. He has an aerospace engineering degree and MBA from the University of Illinois and after college spent 7 years in the navy as a nuclear-trained officer.
Jessica Borak is a senior product manager at NAVTEQ. Jessica has over twenty years experience in the digital mapping industry where she has been involved in field data collection, production processes, technical customer support, and product management. Jessica has a BS in Geography from the University of California.
