Ever present location awareness (GeoContext) is nearly with us, but it’s going to be so much deeper. Today your phone will dial down the ringtone if it knows you’re at work, but what will tomorrows high-fidelity ubiquitous location bring us? Today we cannot imagine a text box without spell checking or any app without online features, what will we expect from tomorrows location aware - dependent - desktop and cloud?

This talk explores that future and how some of it is clearly here, just not evenly distributed yet. From cameras to phones to gaming devices, nothing will go without location and its profound impacts reach beyond your fridge knowing it’s out of milk. Connected PNDs shed a dim light on this future and a peek at a world where the cars engine knows it’s approaching a hill and the stop light weighs up your offer to pay 50 cents to go through on green in 90 seconds time.

Todays fumbled car pooling is tomorrow automated rideshare marketplace. Todays half price burger cupon is tomorrows mobile burger treasure hunt. Todays swings and roundabouts are tomorrows augmented reality adventure park. It all needs GeoContext and this talk aims to give a deep and sweaping overview of that landscape.
